Job fair & Youth Conclave "Success Mantra"

Get On Your Feet !! CSJM University is organizing a Youth Conclave (Success Mantra) and Job fair, absolutely free of cost & open for all !!

Around 20 companies of all the profiles including engineering profile will be visiting including Aircel, Godrej, Genpact, Eureka Forbes, Sampark, Avazon, Amitech and lot more more...final list and details will be revealed on the day of registration, 17th March. registration is purely on the basis of first come first serve basis and free of cost ..
 

So,on the eve of "youth conclave,job fair,cultural night" I would like to mention a few points..
1.bring 10 copies of CV's, 6 photographs and other original documents.
2.Venue of Youth Conclave: Auditorium. Timing 10am-1:30pm.
3.Venue of Job fair: IBM building, university placement cell, CSJMU campus. Timing: 10 am onwards..
4.Venue of cultural night: Auditorium. Timing( 5-7)pm.
5.Registrations will take place in front of IBM building.
6.A participant can apply on any two company,which will be chosen at the time of registration.
7.Only registered students will be allowed to enter the IBM building.
8.Registrations is strictly on the basis of first come first serve,open for all and free of cost.

Youth Conclave - Cultural Night

It is all set to thrill you all by giving high dose music, dance extravaganza, which will include rock-show by "The cownboys", laughter show by "laughter champion" Ashish Srivastava and not to forget, our very own UIETians will also perform over there along with MBA and other departments performance too !!
Its free and open for all the participants and the students, strictly on the basis of first come first serve, be there to celebrate victory along with future professionals !!

Thanks to all the participants for participating so actively and to all the placement volunteers for managing the whole event fabulously. HCL people have conveyed their thanks to the most interactive audience they ever met and to the placement cell for giving them the memorable hospitality and intellect participants. They left with the promise of returning back soon (may be for recruitment's too !!) And at the last, I want to thanks Rashi Mam for believing in us and our efforts !!

Placement cell committee details


Letter of placement cell

ALCOM (Alumni Committee)

1.The main objective of this group will be to trap our alumni, so that we could access to them consistently and avail the maximum benefit from them, when it comes to guiding us or referring us during the internship.

2.This group will consist of 7 volunteers who will be working under the supervision of a faculty under placement cell.

3.These volunteers would reach for our pass-out via emails, contact number and other means and will persuade them to join our alumni group.

4.This alumni group would help the students by guiding them and helping them in their placements and summer training.

5.These volunteers, along with doing the above mentioned task, would also be responsible for updating our database and consistently making the necessary additions.

6.Programme such as counseling sessions and alumni meet could be conducted via Alcom under placement cell.

PCOM( Placement Committee)

1.The main purpose of making this group is to provide hospitality and other arrangements whenever a company visits our campus for on campus placements.

2.This group will be having 7 volunteers working under the supervision of authorities under placement cell.

3.The members of this group will be there whenever any company or representatives from any company visits our campus.

4.They will be responsible for making arrangements which will include, providing hospitality and proper execution of placement process.

5.They will also be included in the working of PPC.


PPC (Placement Preparation Cell)


1.This will play most important part in the preparation of students for campus placements and off campus too.

2.This group will be monitoring act ivies which perform a vital role in developing the personality level and aptitude of students.

3.This group will conduct activities such as Group Discussions on weekly basis for the interested students and arranging other workshops and programs related to English and other topics, which would directly benefit the students during the placements.

4.This group will be working directly under the supervision of placement cell and students of all the years would be allowed to participate in its activities.

5.Apart from this, this group will be responsible for providing quality material to the desired students and will help them to access themselves by conducting regular tests and other exams.



Public Relations (PR):

1.This group will play a key role in finding the contact of various HR’s via internet or personal links.

2.They will forward this to the placement cell on weekly basis.

3.If allowed, they can also do the follow ups and other related stuff.

4.They will also be responsible for prevailing any information to the students on mass scale, thus they will help the students avail maximum benefit from the above mentioned activities of PPC.

Thanks for all the participants of HCL


So, a big thanks for all the participants of HCL workshop for showing up with 160 brilliant ideas for MAD:Workshop by HCL. A very special thanks for all the volunteers for encouraging the participants and assisting them too.. List of finally shortlisted ideas will be out by 10 am tomorrow, please do check it on placement notice board (near placement cell IT Department) and also on this group.All the selected ideas would be going straight into the MAD: HCL Workshop on 4th Feb.

The selected students are requested to assemble on 02.02.12 (Thursday) at 1pm-2pm in L1 for having a interacting session with Rashi Mam for giving final touch to your ideas with some other important details and instruction.

So all the selected students must attend this pre-interactive session on 02.02.12 at 1pm in L1(Lecture Hall Complex)..

Glamour of UIET Kanpur


'Techmart' began with display of robotic skills

The two-day annual technical festival 'Techmart' commenced at University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET) at Chhatrapati Shahuji Maharaj University (CSMU) here on Monday.

The event was jointly inaugurated by vice-chancellors of Gautam Buddh Technical University and CSMU Kripa Shanker and Ashok Kumar.

Shanker said that 15 years ago, students used to exhibit the mechanical designs during technical festivals. The time has changed and so has the technology, the students now make robots that are capable of performing various activities. It is possible due to advancement in computer knowledge.

Kumar said that the over one lakh students studying technical courses are enrolled in different colleges affiliated to CSMU. Efforts are being made to upgrade technical education so that students become proficient in developing advanced robots etc.

Students were seen taking part in various events. As many as 21 events named as robotics, Endeavour, Junkyard, poster presentation etc were held. The participants got an opportunity to showcase the talent. The event Robowars drew appreciation. Several teams participated in the event. The robots entered into fight on the command given by the students.

In Junkyard, the students had made different designs and items from junk.

The robotic arm developed by BTech second year students of CSMU, Abhishek Narain Singh and Adarsh Kumar was highly appreciated. The robotic arm was capable of picking up stuff placed in its vicinity and then dropping it back at the same place. The two were controlling the manoeuvring of the robotic arm with the help of a remote control.

The star attraction of Techmart was a robot named as Welcome, capable of communicating in Hindi and English. The robot worked on a wireless technology, where the camera installed in it worked as its eyes. The camera is capable of clicking and saving pictures.

Sushant Katiyar and Vikas Verma, the students of CSMU who have prepared the robot, said that it can judge anything within one metre.

Around 600 students from 50 technical institutes are participating in Techmart.

Techmart 12 - Media Coverage and End Note

Techmart 12 was a big bash.. The remarkable work of "The Team Techmart 12" was not only seen at college but was broadcasted nation wide. The two-day annual technical fest 'Techmart' began at the University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET), Chhatrapati Shahuji Maharaj University (CSMU), from Monday.

This year, the attraction was a robot named as Welcome, capable of communicating in Hindi and English. It works on the basis of wireless technology, where the camera installed in it would work as eyes. The camera would be capable of clicking and saving pictures.

The team of Techmart said that the robot can judge anything within its reach of one metre. Sushant Katiyar and Vikas Verma, the students of CSMU have prepared the robot using integrated circuit. Hardboard and plastic has been used to give shape to the robot.

Techmart wasjointly inaugurated by vice-chancellor, Gautam Buddh Technical University, Kripa Shakar and CSMU V-C Ashok Kumar.

HCL - bpo is coming for recruitment on 12th Jan, 2012


PLACEMENT UPDATE: It has been officially confirmed that HCL(bpo) IS visiting uiet campus, tommorow (12.01.12), for the recruitment of final year students of all the streams for technical support and other profiles , with a package of 2.02 lac ( approx) and no criteria, around 80 students have already given their names, if anyone else is interested, kindly report at L1 (lecture hall complex ) tommorow at 10:30 am.. Be there on time, with all the necessary documents !! We wish all the very best to all the participating uietians.

Welcome to UIETians - K

Hello everyone!

The University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET), Kanpur, India, founded in 1996, is an engineering and technology institute located in Kanpur, India.



UIET Kanpur is an autonomous institute of the Kanpur University (officially known as CSJM University, with its premises within the university campus. With an initial strength of 240 students, it now has 1,700 students on its rolls in the six disciplines of Engineering and other career-oriented programs like MCA, BCA, M.Sc. (Electronics), M.Sc. (Bioinformatics) and Advanced PG Diploma in Bioinformatics. It is a self-financed institute.


History

UIET Kanpur is known for its lush-green campus

The UIET is a brainchild of its founder Prof. S.S. Katiyar, the former Vice Chancellor of Kanpur University.

It is set amidst the university campus that has an area of about 265 acres. It is one of the constituent institutes of the university. It was founded in 1996 with an initial strength of 240 students, and now more than 1700 students on its rolls in all the six disciplines of engineering and other career-oriented programs like MCA, BCA, M.Sc. (Electronics), M.Sc. (Bioinformatics) and Advanced PG Diploma in Bioinformatics. It is a self-financed institute dedicated to advancing knowledge and educating students in Engineering and Technology as well as Sciences.

Academics

The institute offers engineering courses in the following disciplines:

    Computer Science
    Electronics and Communication
    Mechanical Engineering
    Chemical Engineering
    Material Science and Metallurgy
    Information Technology

The engineering degree offered is a four year Bachelor of Technology, which is abbreviated as B.Tech..


Masters' degree courses in the following disciplines are offered:

    M.Sc.(Electronics)
    M.Sc.(Bioinformatics)
    Advanced postgraduate Diploma in Bioinformatics

M.Phil courses are offered in following disciplines:

    Physics
    Chemistry
    Mathematics

The institute has separate buildings, lecture halls, laboratories and tutorial rooms for each department. The institute holds regular seminars in areas like engineering, bioinformatics, science and personality development programmes. The Department of Bioinformatics is widely involved in research and development activities.


Admission

Admission is provided once annually, through a state level examination conducted by the state technical university UPTU each testing the candidate in aspects of physics, chemistry and mathematics. The candidates also apply for UIET by filling a separate entrance exam conducted by the college.


Infrastructure and facilities

Auditorium
The institute has a collection of engineering, science and technology books in the central library of the university, and has a separate section for UIET. The entire library collection is digitally compiled.


The computer science and engineering department has specialized labs like the microprocessor lab.

There is an auditorium that server as a centre for academic, extra-curricular and cultural activities. The students are either residents of the university hostels, or live in the city.

The lecture hall complex is the centre for class room lectures, and seminars. It is a common set up shared by all the constituent sub-departments of the institute. The building has separate lecture halls, and tutorial rooms.


Faculty

Each department has its head, and appointed faculty members. The faculty members deliver class lectures, and serve as guides for student projects.

Guest faculty and members of the academic community visit UIET Kanpur to deliver lectures and courses.


Culture

The institute holds extracurricular events such as Spandan (the annual cultural festival held within the institute premises) and Techmart (the annual technical festival).

A welcome event for the newcomers into the institute and a convocation / farewell ceremony for the students who are in their final year and are about to graduate, is held annually. The welcome for new students is planned by their immediate seniors, and the convocation ceremony is organized by the immediate junior batch of students.
